


An Irish accordionist in London
Aine McLoughlin is an accomplished accordionist and actor musician based in London. Originally from Mullagh, County Cavan in Ireland, Aine is known for their dynamic range as a solo, ensemble, and orchestral musician. They have performed in leading orchestras, recorded in prestigious studios, and appeared in prominent West End shows.
Aine’s versatility on the accordion has led to a varied and acclaimed portfolio, spanning from classical to contemporary and everything in between. Top theatre credits include Cabaret for the Kit Kat club at the Playhouse Theatre, The Wish Thief at the Royal Opera House, Twelfth Night: For One Night Only at Shakespeare’s Globe, and recording/audio credits include Disney Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine, Hungarian Dances (RTÉ Concert Orchestra), Flight, and Charmed Life – The Best of the Divine Comedy.
Aine’s repertoire also includes regular performances in ceilidh and cover bands, restaurants, jazz and cabaret nights, baby-friendly concerts, and solo performances at weddings. Aine is also an adept composer, and is currently recording an EP for solo accordion.
Determined to revive the education of the accordion, Aine is also dedicated to passing on their skills through tuition, and has taught at the London Irish Centre, Cecil Sharp House for the English Folk Song and Dance Society, Royal Holloway University, Mountview, Music House for Children, and Dulwich College. Alongside teaching accordion, Aine is also writing an accordion tuition book specialising in folk accordion techniques and accompaniments for standard bass accordion.
